2020-2021 COVID impacted projects completed!

Our NWV project for 2020-2021 was the financing and help with the construction of a clinic/community center (a multi-use building) in the remote village of Chinachabilchoch, Izabal, Guatemala.

We were partnering with Guatemala Village Health (GVH), based in Seattle and work in rural Mayan villages to improve health through a combination of ongoing primary care, health education, healthworker training, and public health improvement projects.

Construction of a clinic/community center in Chinachabilchoch did not only benefit that village, but is an excellent resource for surrounding villages.

The building includes clinic rooms, meeting rooms/dorms, bathrooms, 2 showers and an external kitchen. Solar panels will provide power for lights, clinic operation and radio communications.

While the construction of the clinic project was completed in 2021. an exciting upgrade to the clinic is currently underway!

THIS PROJECT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITHOUT TWO GENEROUS GRANTS FROM THE WILLIAM E. WOCKNER FOUNDATION!!
